It doesn’t give too much away, but definitely got us intrigued. Pragmata trailer – how does it look?Īn announcement trailer was aired at the PlayStation ‘Future of Gaming’ event recently. We’d expect nothing less from the creators of Resident Evil and Monster Hunter. There’s a lot going on and much to piece together, but no clear queues in terms of the plot. They then fly out of the earth’s atmosphere, into space and the trailer finishes with the two characters stood on the moon’s surface, looking at Earth. The suited man deploys a sort of wire-based force-field to protect them from the oncoming satellite. This seemingly destroys the gravitational field around the suited man and the young girl, who fly up into the air. He then encounters the girl, who is kneeling next to a holographic cat.Īt one point a satellite falls through the sky – which cracks, acting like a glass screen, before the satellite becomes visible. He is using some sort of scanner which reveals, seemingly, where the young girl has recently passed by. The trailer focuses on a spacesuited man and a young girl, who find themselves in an abandoned – possibly post-apocalyptic – Times Square, in New York City. A cryptic reveal trailer left us guessing at all but a few key plot points.
We know very, very little about the plot of Pragmata so far. It remains unclear exactly which genre Pragmata will occupy, but it certainly looks ambitious. This is one of the Japanese company’s first new IP in years, and will likely be a huge blockbuster for next-gen consoles. Pragmata is being created by Capcom, who you may recognise as the minds behind such franchises like Resident Evil, Monster Hunter World and Devil May Cry.

So this sounds like the beginning of a franchise, which is exciting because there aren't enough new IPs being released these days.Unveiled at Sony’s PS5 ‘Future of Gaming’ event, Pragmata is an upcoming next-gen adventure, heading to Xbox Series X as well as PlayStation 5 and PC. “The company aims to establish Pragmata as one of its core brands,” according to the Xbox store's home page. As a result, it's possible that we won't be on Earth for very long in this game. It is stated in Capcom's press release that Pragmata takes place in a dystopian near-future on the surface of the Moon. At the very least, my best guess is that some sort of biological technology has taken over the world and is ruling the world. The astronaut responds, “Freedom, our freedom,” to which he adds, Speaking of robots, we have spotted a robot cat roaming the planet's surface. In a robotic voice, the child asks, “What is that?” after escaping from the planet and landing on the moon with the astronaut and his companion.
In this alternate reality, the earth as we know it appears to have collapsed and is surrounded by some sort of technology that extends into the sky above it. It appears that the aforementioned child is not a human, as she is capable of breathing in space and performing bizarre feats with her eyes. In accordance with what we can gather from the first teaser trailer, this wild game revolves around an adorable little girl and a mysterious figure dressed in an astronaut suit.
